Amanda K. Brady

I am a theatermaker dedicated to creating performances that uncover and illuminate truths about the human experience in bold and unconventional ways. I aspire to have my work challenge assumptions about what art is and what it can be by using both heightened abstraction and grounded authenticity to reveal what is most deeply human. I am fascinated by the boundary between the real and the surreal, the small and the epic, and how those tensions can expose hidden truths.

I am drawn to exploring the multidimensional ways people exist in the world, including my own place within it. Live performance is a uniquely powerful act of connection that bridges people together in a shared moment and allows for deeper empathy, dialogue, and understanding between people from all walks of life. I am interested in sparking conversation around contemporary culture and collective belief systems both within my own art as well as the art I interact with.
